Polaroid Christmas card

Sorry I haven't posted much this year it's been a little crazy, I promise to try harder from now on! :)
This is one of our Christmas cards from last year. We were on a “retro” kick and our cards really reflected that. We even had a white tree with retro colored ornaments! I used Cuttlebug “Traffic Jam” embossing folder, Lawn Fawn “Say Cheese,” My Favorite Things’ “Home for the Holidays,” Rubber Soul’s “Big Pine,” Studio G stamps, and Souffle pens. I know, I really went wild with a lot of different brands of stamps, but they worked so well together. I made quite a few different cards so you’ll be seeing more Christmas cards each week.

Car Guys

I really like making masculine cards even though they are a little harder to do. Here are just a few I put together for the car guys in my family. The Black/Gray dots paper was some given to me by a friend and I have no idea who it’s by. The brown paper is DCWV Once Upon A Time’s Spellbound Parchment. The blue/green stripe paper (one of my favorite papers) is Junkitz Rhythmz Paperz’s R&B Skinny Stripes. The stamp is from Tim Holtz “Playful Journey.” Quick and easy.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge

I wanted to make a card for a sweet family friend, so when I saw the challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I used Lawn Fawn’s “Critters in the Forest,” Paper Smooches’ “Simply Said,” Basic Grey’s “Lemonade” paper pack, Recollection’s bird on a wire tape, and a Prima’s “Summer Fun” flower for a sun. A little coloring and a little Stickles and done.

hi

I love this stamp so much, it‘s so sweet. I thought it would make a great "hi" card for my step-sister. I used Unity’s “your wings exist” (again, so sweet) then colored it with scholar prismacolor colored pencils. The stamp on the envelope was a gift and I have no idea who it's by. I went over the dots on her dress with a Sakura Gelly Roll Metallic pen. Added a little distressing with Tim Holtz’s distress inks in “tumbled glass” and “peeled paint” and was done. Really simple, but a “sweet” way to say hi. Dog Daze

We really love dogs at my house and so do our friends and family, so I made a few doggie albums for our furred friends. I didn’t use doggie paper for all of them, but I made sure to take into account the personalities of both the dog and the owner. These are so easy, just cut chipboard a little over 4x6 and cover it or paint it. Then cut some cardstock at 4x6. Trim a little off your 4x6 pictures, add them and you're done. I put two of these together with my “bind it all” and the other one with binder rings. So easy and yet so cute.

Cheers

I made these cards for my brother-in-law for Christmas last year. If you have your own wine connoisseur these are really quick and easy to make. I used Daisyds’ “Holly Winter Blue“ paper cut with Tim Holtz‘s On the Edge “Ornate” and distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I used Michael’s rub-ons, cut them out and accented them with Sakura Gelly Roll “Clear Star” pen and Sakura Gelly Roll Glaze #800 pen. Quick, easy and lots of fun to both give and to make.

Get Comfy

I really love how well these Art Impressions stamps stamp. Today I used their “Comfy on Couch Set.” Did I mention I love these stamps? I embossed the background with Cuttlebug’s “Kassie’s Brocade,” then used Recollection’s “Red Stripes,” and Spellbinders’ “Labels Nine.” You already know I used Stickles, Rose Art color pencils, Tombow Markers and Memento “Tuxedo Black” ink.

Golden Oldies

My mom is in a Red Hat group so I like to make her fun cards to send to her friends. I’ve been making her cards for the last week so I’m sure you will see a few of them on here this coming week. For this one I used Art Impressions “Golden Oldies” and “You Go First” stamps. Love these stamps. I used a Fiskars’ punch, Recollection’s “Red Small Dots,” and Spellbinders’ “Large Scalloped Octagons.” And of course you know I used Stickles, Rose Art color pencils, Tombow Markers and Memento “Tuxedo Black” ink.

Grateful

Can you tell I’m grateful? Yes, it’s another “thank you” card. This one is for my sister-in-law and her family. I love this Artsy-licious in Chocolate by Chatter Box. I also used Technique Tuesday “Favorite Memories” and “This One” by Ali Edwards. I added a Spellbinders “Labels Five” and some gold Stickles and done.

Thanks

I really don’t use blue much, however I really like this paper by Me & My BIG Ideas. I think it has an elegant look, especially when used with the Spellbinders “Fancy Tags.” I also added Everyday Greetings’ “Thanks,” Technique Tuesday’s “Olde World Squares,” and some black cardstock. A little Tim Holtz Distress Ink in “Tumbled Glass” and Studio g black ink finished it up. I made this card for one of my oldest and dearest friends and her family. I hope they know how thankful I am for them.

Smash Journal

This is my first Smash journal and I love the size, it is perfect for throwing into a purse or backpack for on the go memory keeping. I know this will be a big shock to you ;) but I made this one for our New York trip! I found The Robin’s Nest Press “City Scape“ while traveling and I don‘t remember where, but I knew I had to have it ( I kind of have a “city scape“ addiction) and it was perfect cut apart for the Smash cover. I also love Unity Stamps so their “City of Love” was the finishing touch. If you are afraid of really messing up your journal (I was) then just remember that if you hate it you can always cover it up with paper, however you just might be pleasantly surprised, I was.

Great Time

Ok, the last New York card, you know I couldn’t forget my brother-in-law. He made sure we knew where to go and how to get there and just made our time in New York wonderful. I wanted him to know what a great time we had thanks to him. I used Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fade “Pocket Watch” and Gold Stickles for the background. The sentiment I typed out on the computer and then cut it out with Spellbinders Nestabilities “Small Deckled Rectangles.” For the envelope I stamped Technique Tuesday’s “Time Flies” with studio g black ink.

Little Things

Today I have another New York inspired card for a great guy we met while there. I used Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fade “Woodgrain” and the Tim Holtz “Good Thoughts” stamp. I love this Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Nine.” I really like how I was able to use the Technique Tuesday “Home Tweet Home” stamp with the Tim Holtz product. I used studio g black ink, and of course more Stickles, Silver this time.

Gear Card

Our trip to New York (our first ever) gave me a lot of inspiration to create, so you will probably see a bunch of post with New York stories in them. While we were in New York we met some great new people through my brother-in-law and I wanted to send them some “great to meet you” `cards. This card goes to a sweet couple we met the first night there, it is made almost completely with Tim Holtz product. I used a white card base and cut out the top with Tim Holtz Alterations On The Edge “Steampunk.” I inked the cut out with Tim Holtz Distress Ink “Pumice Stone” and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then embossed the bottom of the card with Tim Holtz Alteration Texture Fades “Steampunk.” I cut out a small circle with a Quickutz die and stamped it with Tim Holtz “Pumice Stone” on the Tim Holtz “Nature’s Elements.” And of course I added Diamond Stickles. On the envelope I stamped Technique Tuesday’s “Get it in Gear” in black ink and clear embossed it also. I hope they like this card as much as I enjoyed making it for them.

Where in the world is my Vagabond???

Where in the world is my Vagabond??? Well I almost hated to show Sizzix after seeing Tim’s 10 inches of snow, but here it is. I live in Alabama and it is a beautiful 80 degrees here and my Wisteria is so beautiful and smells so good that I love the idea of crafting in my front yard. So here is my Vagabond waiting for me to get crafty. Thanks Sizzix for this chance to get out and about with my Vagabond and the chance to get new stickers and guage keys.
