Believe

This Christmas card just feels like snow and cold. I used Momenta’s Christmas Party “Icicle” paper, Technique Tuesday’s “Believe” by Ali Edwards, Stampendous Winter Wonderland embossing powder, and Gelly Roll Clear Star pen. A quick, easy, and cool card.

Joy to the World

Joy to the world, one of the first Christmas cards I made this year! I so love these blues and greens even if they aren’t “normal” Christmas colors! I used Reminisce’s Frosted Flakes paper, Technique Tuesday’sCelebrate the Seasons” by Ali Edwards, Tombow markers 133 and 443, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, and Psychedelic embossing powder. This was such a fun card to make, it put me right into the Christmas mood.

2010 Christmas cards

Ok, I like to send out my Christmas cards the day after Thanksgiving, however last year I was a little late getting started so I needed something easy. These simple one layer cards were made with Inkadinkado “Winter Trails” and 4Klear Stamping “Season’s Greetings.” These were stamped with Color Box Black ink and heat embossed with Stampendous detail clear. A few Stampendous class a’ peel stickers and you’re ready to add a stamp.

Happy birthday...

Today I needed the perfect birthday card for a very special person; I hope this is it! I used Daisy D paper, Spellbinders’ “Fancy Tags,” and Technique Tuesday’s “Simply You” stamp. It was really simple to make, but I have to say I love how it turned out.

Made it Myself Mondays 19

Woohoo, another Made it Myself Monday! You have to stop by the You Had Me At Craft blog and see all the great things going on over there.
I love Halloween! So this year I made some “all grown up” cards to send out to some of my friends. I love My Mind’s Eye and I bought quite a few pieces of 29th Street Market’s “Adoring Print” which was a perfect background for these simple cards. I used both Studio G stamps and Tim Holtz stamps, and of course Stampendous Detail Clear embossing powder. All sentiments I did on the computer. I’ve also been practicing with Tim Holtz Distress Ink, and I don’t think it turned out too bad. Happy Halloween.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Most of us have had our lives touched by this horrible disease is one way or another. Waiting to find out if you have breast cancer is a very stressful thing to go through and I’m very thankful to the people who were there for me while I waited to hear if my life was about to be turned upside down. It’s not. I made this card as a thank you for “being there for me” and also as a reminder of how important it is to get a mammogram. I used Deja Views’ “Sweet Romance Grey Damask” and Core'dinations cardstock. I stamped and colored My Favorite Things Stamps’ “Think Pink.” I also used Studio g’s black ink and Stampendous Detail Clear Embossing powder. I hope she enjoys getting it this week. Please get a mammogram every year if you are over 40, it really can be a matter of life and death.

There is a “Card Drive for Kids“ with Spina Bifida going on right now. Please check out this wonderful card drive and help out with some cards for these very brave children. For all the information please check out:

J Journal

This little journal was a gift for a family member’s graduation and I wanted something that was as colorful as she is. I bought a little kraft colored journal and painted front and back with random sweeps of Making Memories “Honeydew” and “Lagoon” Scrapbook Colors paints. The “J” was made with a Tim Holtz “Ransom” mask and then painted it with Making Memories “Sea Foam“. I stamped the front with a Tim Holtz “Life’s Possibilities” stamp. I also used Recollections’ glitter tape and a rub on from Hambly. For the back I stamped “Scatter Joy” from Outlines. I really love when I can make gifts with my scrapbook supplies! If you have time I’d love to hear about the things you make besides cards and scrapbook layouts. Sorry the pictures are turned wrong, this is the first time this has happened and I don't seem to be computer savvy enough to fix it. lol

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC12

Today I wanted to make a card for my better half and when I saw the challenge on the CAS-ual Fridays blog I knew what I was going to make. I love rub-ons and I have a ton of them, but I knew exactly which one I wanted to use. I used “Amazing” from Autumn Leaves’ “French Twist” rub-on. I cut the front of the card using Tim Holtz On the Edge “Ornate.” For the inside of the card I used My Mind’s Eye “Mama’s Curtains“. I cut the inside label with Spellbinders Nestabilities’ “Labels Two” and stamped “you” with Recollections’ “Once Upon a Letter.” I hope you stop by the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see all the great inspiration and maybe try out their challenge.

Blog Candy

When I first started my blog I wanted to give away blog candy…I had no followers! Then I had 10 followers and I so wanted to give away some blog candy. I know, it would have been a little sad. However today I decided to give away some blog candy, just because I can. I really don’t have anyone to craft with here [I have one great friend who also crafts but our schedules never work together 8^)] and ya’ll have been so sweet in all your comments that I want to do a little something for you. So leave a comment on this post and then check back on Friday July 29th to see who wins. It would be nice if you would follow me, but you don’t have to. You will have one week to get me your mailing address, if I don’t hear from you I’ll pick another winner.

Perspective

I’m sorry it’s been so long since I‘ve been on here, but hopefully I‘m back for a while. Today I want to share with you some cards I made using Tattered Angels’ Glimmer Mist Robin’s Egg, one of their screens and Tim Holtz’s “Good Thoughts.” After the Tattered Angels dried I stamped and heat embossed the “Good Thoughts” stamps. I like that these cards can be used for both male and female recipients. Sometimes guy cards are a little hard to come up with. I am posting this for “Made it Myself Mondays” at You Had Me At Craft. You should check her blog out, lots of inspiration. I hope you will come back to see me soon, I’m pretty sure there is going to be some blog candy given away soon. 8^)

Link Up Love Party with K Andrew

Hey everyone, I’m so excited about Kristal’s Link Up Love Party! The last one was so much fun. It is such a great way to get to know each other and find new blog inspiration. I am always inspired by Kristal’s blog http://www.gettingcricky.com/ and I can’t wait to see what everyone else is doing. After the past month I could use some beautiful inspiration.
I’m supposed to show you one of my favorite projects and I hope my son is okay with me posting this layout! This lo is one of the first I ever did and has three of my favorite things in it: my son, Basic Grey, and things cut with my Cricut. I have to tell you, by the time he cut his hair it was down to his waist. I really missed it after he cut it but he was able to donate a lot of hair to Locks for Love.
I hope you have a wonderful time at the Link Up party and I can’t wait to visit your blog. Stop by and check out the party info at Kristal's

Thank you

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who sent such kind thoughts and prayers to us in the aftermath of the tornado. We are getting things back together and starting to feel a little normal. There are so many who are so much worse off than we are, please keep them in your thoughts. Again, we just want to say thank you all for everything.

Tornado

Hey everyone, just want you to know I won't be on here for a few. We live right outside of Tuscaloosa, AL and the tornado hit our neighborhood. We are all fine, some houses gone but no injuries at all. We were blessed. Please keep those not so lucky in your thoughts. Hope to be back on soon, when we get power and internet.

Love is Everything

I have a confession…I really love the “Love is Everything” stamp by Jessica Rose by Unity! Now don’t get me wrong, I love all my Unity stamps but these cute little televisions with that wonderful saying just makes me happy. Of course I had to make some cards with it. I used Color Box “black” to stamp on a paint chip (I ask everybody I know to save them for me when they paint) and then embossed with Stampendous Stamp-N Stuff clear detail embossing powder. I doodled the frame around the paint chips, a first for me, and they were done! Hope your day is great and thanks for stopping by.

Link up Love

Hey, Kristal over at Getting Cricky is hosting a “Link Up Love” party and we’re all invited. I think this is such a great idea! We could all use a little more love in our lives and I’m honored to share some with all of the amazing crafters who share their creativity with us. I’m going to try to leave more comments and follow more of the blogs I enjoy from now on. I almost forgot, we're supposed to share something most people don't know about us so...something most people don't know about me is that I've been a dancer, singer, model, and karate instructor; however I am really quite shy, at least till you get to know me. So come join us, tell us something about yourself, follow a blog, (or a lot of blogs) and leave a little love for someone. Check out Getting Cricky at: http://www.gettingcricky.com/2011/04/love-link-up-party-for-all-brave-girls.html

Bird Challenge - last one 8^)

Ok, I just had to do one more “bird” challenge for “Getting Cricky.” This “stamped” candle is so easy to do. Just a candle, tissue paper, heat gun, and Inkadinkado’s “Bird Assortment” stamp and there you go. I colored this bird with colored pencils, but you could use markers. So go make something “birdie” and join us at the challenge. http://www.gettingcricky.com/2011/03/simply-sunday-challenge-for-birdshis.html

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge, Woohoo

Hey, I’m really excited to try my first “Getting Cricky” Simply Sunday Challenge. This challenge is “For the Birds.” Love it! For this little card I used Recollections’ “Leaves” from their Birdwatching line. Such a fun paper. Those darling little owls are Stampavie’s “Lily & Milo” by Rachelle Anne Miller. This is the first time I’ve used a Stampavie stamp and I love how crisp and clear the image was. I cut the mat with Tim Holtz Alterations’ “Hanging Sign” and also cut the little leaves with a tiny leaf die (sorry, no idea where it’s from.) I sprayed the white hand-cut leaf with Tattered Angels’ Glimmer Mist “Kiwi” then wrote “Hi” with a black Zig pen. I colored the owls with colored pencils and the worm with Tombow 133. I also used Ranger’s Diamond Stickles on their eyes, you know how I love Stickles. I think I'll go make something else for the challenge; I'm having way too much fun. I hope you'll stop by and play too.

April

My life is so full and wonderful that every day really does seem like a treasure, which is what made me think of using Maya Road’s “Singleton Antique Keys” and The Craft Lounge’s “Under Lock & Key” rubber stamps. And of course I used Heidi Swapp’s month stamps. This is the first time I’ve used Craft Lounge stamps and they are great! I hope you have a wonderful month and that each day is a treasure just waiting for you to unlock.

Tuesday Trigger: Farm Fresh

OK, I’m going to try my hand at a Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger. When I saw this trigger I knew it was the one to do. And here is my card:I was a huge fan of Tinkering Ink papers and the colors in the trigger are the same colors that are in their Botanical Bliss line. Yes, I am hoarding my Tinkering Ink papers. 8^) For this card I used Tinkering Ink Petite Patterned pad Botanical Bliss, Hero Arts’ “Wish You Were Here,” Technique Tuesday’s “Shadows, Rings, and Little Things,” Stampendous’ “Dot Sparkles Gold” and Autumn Leaves RubOns. I also used Tim Holtz Alterations On the Edge “Scrollwork.” I hope you’ll stop by the Moxie Fab World and try the Tuesday Trigger yourself. http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/03/tuesday-trigger-farm-fresh.html

Just Shine

I have so many people who add a little brightness to my life that I needed some cards that could be used for everything, these work. I used Unity’s “Shine On” stamps by Lisa Hetrick. I love these little lamps! I really like the paper on these cards but I have no idea who it’s by as I have had it for quite a while. When making a set of cards I like to use two sided papers like this one. I stamped each lamp twice and cut out one shade to pop up with foam tape to add some dimension. I then colored (color pencils, I like how they give a "fabric" texture to the shades) the shades with blues and greens and used some bling that I had in my stash. Each envelope also has a lamp stamped on it that matches the lamp on the card. A simple card with lots of fun. Ok, I have to say it…now go let your creativity shine. lol

A Sweet Little Book

This little book is so easy to make! Tim Holtz calls it the “W” book and that was a big help when I was learning to make them. This was the very first one I ever made and now I’m addicted to them. Lol! I have made a few changes in how I make them now, but they still make me happy every time I make one. To make one 3”x3” book I use one 12”x12” piece of paper, Tim Holtz tissue tape, a glue stick and embellishments. It’s a quick, easy, and fun mini book. I’ll put one of the newer ones on here soon.

Camera

Hey, just wanted to brag about my wonderful better half. For my birthday (I’m posting this a little late) I got a Fujifilm Instax Mini 7S camera! It makes the most adorable credit card sized pictures. I can’t wait to make some mini albums with them. I so love it!!

Diva Drinks

Every diva needs her own special glass! So I made some for some of my favorite divas. These, like the “man mugs,” should only be gently hand washed! For these monogrammed wine glasses I used Cricut’s “Home Décor,” “Opposites Attract,” “Mini Monograms,” “Songbird,” “George & Basic Shapes,” “Paper Pups.” Here’s to creativity!

Sunday, January 9, 2011

Man Mug!

These “man” mugs are just what you need for the hard to buy for guy in your life. Pick up some good heavy weight mugs and you’re already almost done. Just remember these mugs must be hand washed. I used Cricut’s “Plantin Schoolbook” for a “manly” alphabet. And their “Graphically Speaking” had the cutest faucet. Make a few for some of your favorite guys…I did.

Paper Pups

Everyone knows that I am a real dog person so it’s no surprise that Cricut’s “Paper Pups” is my all time favorite Cricut cartridge. I used it, “Plantin Schoolbook,” and “Opposites Attract” to make tiles for some of my favorite pups. Hope you like them.

Royal Commands

I needed a gift for Tam’s boss and wasn’t sure what to get. However, one day she walked around the office saying “I’m the queen of the universe!” So here we are. I bought a large dry erase board and using Oh My Crafts! “Caribbean Blue” Oh My Vinyl, Cricut's "Home Decor, and Cricut Lite “Botanicals” font made the “Queen” a board for her commands!

Sunday, January 2, 2011

Framed

I really like to use wood craft frames, but almost any frames can be used for this craft. I love that I can personalize them for any person, any room, and any holiday…even if it is just because. All you need is tissue paper, cardstock, embellishments, and lots of creativity. For these I used stamps from “Pollen Dust,” Fancy Pants’ “On a Whimsy,” Stamp abilities’ “Ornate Icons,” Hero Arts’ “Sparkle Clear” alphabets, BoBunny’s “Write On!” The rub-on transfers are from Luxe Designs.
